White Temple Visit

Yet another visit to the next amazing religious place- White Temple, located in Chiangrai, Thailand. It was the day right after Doi Suthep visit. Weather was cool when I reached there, approximately 22 degree Celsius as Chiangrai is in the northern part of Thailand. White Temple was born from the devotion of National artist Chalermchai Kositpipat.

Be amaze with the White Temple, an art-exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple!

Its reflection on the water makes the scene magnificent

Did you notice the small damage at the left top of the temple?
It was caused by a previous earthquake.

Zooming in the damaged top part

There are many small decorations around and in the water

Wishes written by visitors were hanged beautifully like a tree

Gate of Heaven, guarded by two creatures, Death and Rahu who decides the fate of the dead.

An ocean of hands reach up for you as you traverse the cycle of death and rebirth.
Offerings can be made into the bowls of suffering.

Journeying to the main temple hall

Exploring around the temple hall

Another bridge that lead visitors to the exit

The tree decorations could creep you out a little. Another artwork by the artist.

Crowds of visitors around the temple

Getting surprised with the golden restroom building.
The hygienic condition is greatly maintained.

There is a small house, also in white. A golden wishing well is built in it.
Visitors love to throw coins into it when wishing for good fortunes.

It is said that if your coin gets into a hole in the centre of it which was decorated as a flower, your wish may comes true. I tried to aim for it but I got no luck.. Haha..

Some other small buildings, bridge and decorations are spotted, with not much people wandering around near the exit of the temple hall.

Don't miss out the small details too!

Look at the floor, it's the Yin and Yang symbol

One last shot before we bid goodbye to the white temple

White Temple is the most unique religious place I've ever visited. With the Thai angels, mythical creatures sculptures and decorations mostly in white, it presents a totally different kind of feeling than the usual temples to the visitors. I would say it's such a pleasure to be there, to witness the famous artworks by my own eyes. One word to describe the experience- splendid.
